red-necked-grebe

The first time I saw Red-necked Grebes was in April 1994 at Round Valley Reservoir in NJ.  My notes say it was cold (in capital letters with an exclamation point).  I wonder how cold it could have really been in April, but let’s skip over that shall we?  It was bird 112 on my nascent life list.
