Ha…you know me and my “love” (or lack of love) for shorebirds. I know it’s a gull…beyond that I couldn’t tell you what it is…lol.
Any pics from South Beach?
Cool pic. Love all the shells in the sand.
I too wait for the pics from South Beach
ok, I give up… what is it?
Lesser Black-backed Gull. The yellow legs are indicative.
I’ve never heard of a Screaming Yellowlegs, so I’m guessing that’s a regional nickname or something. Too big to be a Lesser Yellowlegs, must be a Greater! ;-D
Sweet shot, Bev!
Hahahaha. Most gulls have lots of colorful local names, most pejorative I would think. This is a Lesser Black-backed Gull.
