I should have been vacuuming the downstairs or doing laundry or mopping the kitchen floor or stripping the bed or any number of things. But the sun burst out and I could not stand it; I had to get out. I went over to Waywayanda, the local state park. Not much was happening birdwise, but as I was about to get back in the car, I spotted a flash of blue on blue. I walked over to a weedy field to see a small flock of Bluebirds feasting on rose hips. Ah, they were a sight for sore eyes.
