Bird Photography Weekly

The 3rd edition of Bird Photography Weekly is up and the Birdfreak team wants your input.  Scour your photos, post it to your blog, then go leave a link.  Do it now.

I give you a Red-faced Cormorant in breeding plumage taken on a boat trip during the Kachemak Bay Shorebird Festival in Homer, Alaska.  Brrr.  It was cold on the water and the bird was far, so it is not a great picture, but an amazing one.

  1. A truly amazing picture. It took me a minute to pick out its full outline against the dark rocks. Very cool.

  2. Yes, this is an amazing shot of an amazing bird. Thanks for taking part in Bird Photography Weekly.

What an unusual bird! It is much more “attractive” than the black and turkey vultures that I am used to. I like those neck feathers.
